I ran my own company Long Shot Film Entertainment (www.longshot.tv) for many years creating a range of corporate, entertainment and comedy material, DVDs and basic websites.

I've also freelanced as a commercials director, in-house producer/director, and occasional director for the Network 10 sketch series THE WEDGE. My production background covers experience with companies such as the ABC, where I was on staff for many years working on shows like THE LATE SHOW, THE AFI AWARDS, THE BIG GIG, SMALLEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE and as Associate Producer on the comedy documentary series STANDING UP. I've also been employed by Granada Productions, St Kilda Film Festival, Artist Services, Mullinars, Cornerbox, Act3 Animation and Networks 9 & 10.

For a long time I was Series Producer, Writer and Director for the regular travel/infotainment program SKYBUS TV, which is broadcast daily onboard the Skybus super-shuttles to and from the airport. I've also produced or directed material for corporate clients such as State Trustees, Ernest Hillier Chocolates, Siemens Hearing Instruments, the St Kilda Festival, Family Assistance Office, and the City of Port Phillip’s Commonwealth Games Unit.

I was a Tropfest finalist director in 2003 for THE REFEREES, with an allstar cast featuring: Matthew Dyktynski, Angus Sampson, Mike McLeish, Josh Cameron and a cameo from Leigh Whannell. I've made many other short films which have screened or won awards at film festivals around the world, including as Aspen Shortsfest, Palm Springs, Toronto, Uppsala, Sao Paulo, Flickerfest, MIFF, Sydney and opening night at St Kilda. I most recently scripted a short for the Project Greenlight winning team the Macrae Brothers called NO MAIL, which stars Susie Porter and Rodney Afif.

A short feature I co-wrote/co-directed called CRAZY RICHARD secured DVD distribution in North America and Canada; and a film made entirely on a mobile phone called META4 was a finalist in the Siemens MicroMovie competition. I've also had a new-media project selected for participation in the highly regarded X|Media|Lab. I'm interested in new technologies and cross-media narrative, animation and general entertainment possibilities.

Recently I joined forces with a group of talented Visual Effects Artists and 3D Animators to produce original content and to provide services to the industry - we're called THE LAMPSHADE COLLECTIVE. (www.lampshadecollective.com)

My background also regularly jumps to the other side of the camera: I'm a proud recipient of the Moosehead Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the two-hander comic stage play FOOTY CHICKS, and I've been a regular cast member on various sketch comedy series including FLIPSIDE (ABC TV) & THE WEDGE (Network 10) where yes, I'm probably best known as newsreader “Sandra Sultry” and the rude shopping centre Spruiker lady.

I've appeared in many television series guest roles over the years, and acted in lots of short films, independent feature films and been a voice actor for a whole range of things.

I've also been an invited guest speaker, teacher, or judge for places like: the AFI, MEAA, WIFT, MIFF, Melbourne Uni, MAFIA Awards, MIAF, Open Channel, Arts Law Centre, Geelong Shootout, Screen Actors’ Studio, PDGA and others....

Phew. Now I need a lie down.

Yes I twitter sometimes: you'll find me as 'katminsky'
